From our streets to the air we breathe to the technology in our homes - greener is cleaner for today and future generations!
Let's make West Hollywood a leading example in clean living! Reducing traffic congestion and noise pollution by way of bike lane expansion and better public transportation options, creating more parks and green spaces, adopting renewable energy sources in building projects, and improving the overall cleanliness of the city, it is important that WeHo continues the fight against global climate change.
Noise pollution is a big problem in our city. We must reevaluate and update the city's noise ordinances and strictly enforce them.
Create more aggressive requirements for new construction within the city to use materials and technology that helps to reduce carbon footprint
Initiate significant incentives for property owners to adopt or switch to renewable sources of the energy such as solar panels
Create better recycling options while continuing to educate residents on what everyone can do or change to fight this global crisis
We need businesses and residents to work together so that we can all enjoy the neighborhood
We will improve the overall cleanliness of West Hollywood, including working with our current trash collectors to improve pick-up of large curbside items
Initiate significant incentives for property owners to adopt renewable sources of energy, such as solar, green insulation, and smart appliances
Building permit costs issued by the city could vary depending on whether the project is using "green' materials and technology
Reducing traffic congestion will not only reduce vehicle emissions and air pollution but will also make a positive impact on reducing noise pollution
By having more work/live space in our community will cut down on local residents need to use their cars
Encourage the use of bicycles by expanding bicycle lanes throughout the city, as well as secure ways to store bicycles in public spaces
Restructure the current Cityline shuttle by making the routes more direct, rather than the current zig-zag route, to help make using this free service more direct and time-efficient. Adding a few more shuttle buses to the routes will help, as well. This will encourage not only our local residents to utilize the shuttles more, but will also help tourists who visit our city a hop-on-hop-off option to explore without the need of a car rental, all of which will reduce traffic congestion.
The Metro is coming through our city, which is very exciting! The city council must make sure that we support the LA Metro as they move the build through our city to ensure it's done smoothly and with as little negative impact on the character of West Hollywood and our residents.
